Abundance, The Tantric Way By Maria Martins (Bhakti Shakti)
Book review

This review is based on the first print published by Tantrananda Publications, Sydney, Australia, 2003. The book contains an introduction written by the author, six chapters, a section of tables, bibliography and further readings, Sanskrit glossary of Tantric terms and glossary of Tantric Sanskrit names.
'Abundance, the Tantric Way' book can be categorized as of wisdom. A classical approach is used to address the problem of abundance of any kind. Although the material side of the issue is much emphasized, the subject of abundance is scrutinized on a broad perspective. In so the notions of abundance of knowledge, health, love, etc., are also part of the ideas pertinent to the book.
The first chapter named 'The concept of Tantra' is a succinct although comprehensive presentation of the main ideas of the philosophy of Tantra. The issue of gods and goddesses is discussed along with Shiva and Shakti concept. The Tantric views regarding creation of the world are presented (they are shown within the Tattva structure, in graphical form at the end of the book). A basic presentation of Mantras, Yantras, Mandalas and Mudras is also done. This chapter ends up with a description of the Cakras and Kundalini Tantric ideas, the issue of the Cakra system being highly relevant.
